TEXT FOR CRITICAL ________________________________________ Odalis G. PEREZ Member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and the Dominican Association of Art Critics (ADCA) Alexis Garcia is a Dominican artist who has participated in collective and individual exhibitions, not only as an application and mode of occurrence from the social, but as the possibility of entering into the dialogue necessary for every artist who understands art as a level of abstraction, defined under the new language, calligraphy and systems of representation. The artist would like to respond to the real thing, but from the art, that is, from what is hidden or is expected as a code-expressive. García's painting does not abandon its culture: the Caribbean. Thus, linear color stay a way to be sure of figurative expressionism and post-expressionistic view of the thematic and formal conjunctions reveal the cultural order of painting and painting. All this stems from an idea of the painted symbolic germination and obvious qualities of their mythical creation itself. The adoption of this view, no doubt neofigural, invites the viewer to consider the look and the way we see the artist who insists on the various keys of the presence of the paint. Garcia has his points of significance that occurs in context, the justification of an aesthetic not hesitant, accepted as poiesis and mimesis. Both concepts refer to contact points and lines of thought and analysis. If we look at parts of the series Every mind is a world ... incorporate the same open-world tradition in dialogue with modernity or modernities that emerged between 1910 and 1930 in Europe. The line you want to preserve the lines of the composition as a fingerprint, account registration and, in turn exceeds what is the literal image to form a polysemic image, where the procedure formal gestalt effects, constructive and color in the representational order. The triple gaze focused on a single universe admits closeness and distance the same time, so that the strengths of the picture are theme-visual axis formed by the crossing mythical icon base. The narrative that motivates the artist's hand records from meetings where nature and culture as a state witness to the models that underlie the primary images. After a certain gesture entrenched in the face that extends the look and the look of that registration, we are seeing a movement where the abstract, symbolic and dreamlike than the thickness of a basis for charging other values and other content particularize supported by convention and belief in the nature and culture of the Caribbean. In the series Eco-geometric intuition, where Alexis Garcia takes hold in the abstract and geometric directionality, we note that the artist conceptualized the symbol as a way to promote some understanding of their world. And this is how the geometric abstraction of Mondrian and Neo, it is based to achieve compositions on the same axis and relationship building chosen visual narrative. Geometric intuition-eco-No. 1, 2, 3 and 4, shows the profile of surface spaces and spaces in depth, at which the eye-infinite No. 4 justifies an imaginary from a geometric shape that has been transformed by the time of abstraction that we see on the horizon and one eye look and a line of what is seen. Alexis Garcia Caribbeanness remember reading in a world line type, key images and legacies, from magical-artistic purposes, promote community narratives, mythic, visual and thematic justified by the impulse that leads the viewer to recognize differences, cuadrajes and cruises in the Caribbean islands. Alexis García artist invites us to his exhibition flights, icons, fragments of worlds, geometries and swellings of nature, that magical line up wonderful pictorial aesthetic experience, crossed by natural and historical routes that lead to a space artistic and ecological type memorial, creational and whose inscription found in the Caribbean islands.
